IHIF 2024: hospitality – innovation and revolution

From 15-17 April 2024, the International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF) returns to Berlin, just in time to address a perfect storm of global issues, with over two hundred professionals from the hospitality sector coming together to assess how to bring the sector and investors back to the forefront and how important it is to proactively create new market opportunities to increase profits and success.

The challenges

Current geopolitical tensions on the edges of Europe and the Middle East are just the backdrop to a hospitality sector simultaneously facing a volatile macroeconomic environment where inflation is declining but remains high, interest rates are highly unpredictable and economic growth is slow. Bankers currently predict that, even if an imminent recession is avoided, challenges remain, including a lack of available debt.

The themes

IHIF 2024 will examine the development of new visions for hospitality, beyond traditional hotels, but also innovation for the sector, with a large roster of speakers presenting opinions on how proactivity, innovation and confidence are essential companions on the road to success. Hospitality industry giants will discuss how they anticipate and create opportunities in a constantly changing macroeconomic climate, sharing insights on how they are actively anticipating trends to create new opportunities amidst global changes, including the impact of geopolitical events, increasing ESG considerations, AI integration, demographic evolution and the future of work. In-depth analyses of travel trends and flows will be proposed, as well as revenue forecasts and key profitability factors. Another decisive theme at the centre of discussions is the interaction developing between traditional and alternative debt in hospitality financing, a deep dive into the world of creative finance, which will offer valuable insights to those seeking to break free from traditional financing constraints.
